A message from Jeff: Your feedback drives action

You are the strength of TVA. Your commitment allows us to deliver on our mission to the communities and people we are privileged to serve.

As we continue to prepare for the future, we want to understand what’s working for you and how we can improve in ways that allow you to bring your best to work each day.

Our engagement survey is one way that you can share your feedback and ideas with us. It’s not the only way – I enjoy hearing from you in listening sessions, meetings and casual functions as well. However, the survey is a tool that helps us track our progress over time.

I was encouraged that nearly 70 percent of our employees participated in the recent engagement survey. Thank you for sharing your comments with us. Your feedback is both appreciated and valued.

Your leaders should be sharing results and themes that were prevalent within your group’s feedback. There are a few key enterprise-wide results I’d like to share with you to add to these conversations.

Our overall engagement score of 81 ranks above top quartile of comparable organizations and was up two points from the previous engagement survey.

Once again, you expressed a sense of purpose and pride in your work at TVA. The work you do – each and every day – matters. Right now, many of you are working tirelessly through the record-breaking energy demand to keep residents cool and ensure critical power remains reliable and resilient. Thank you.

Safety remains one of the highest scores in the survey at 86. It’s a core value and you told us that you feel your safety is a priority in all that we do. At TVA, we keep each other safe and care about each other. I’m glad your responses reflect and reinforce this.

Our inclusion score remained encouraging, at 72. That said, I know we still have room for improvement. As a core value, inclusion is at the heart of who we are at TVA.

The survey results also revealed several areas of opportunity. Two specific areas of improvement are letting you know that your opinions matter, and clear and open communication from leaders. We are listening to your feedback. And we are taking action based on your feedback. When we have important information, we will share that with you in a timely and transparent manner.

Our strength lies in our collective power. And a large part of that strength stems from the perspectives and engagement that each individual brings to the table.
